Medic Air teams proceeded to the evacuation of a Belgian traveler suffering from heart failure with septic shock from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Brussels (Belgium) by air ambulance on local physicians' request.
Mission was performed in January 2017 with a joint team of four medical attendants: heavy intensive care team (anesthesiologist physician and two flying nurses) and a cardiovascular surgeon.
During the 18-hour flight, patient was kept under Extra Corporal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), close monitoring with ultrasound and blood analyzer on board, French Lyophilized Plasma (PLYO), inotropic support and mechanical ventilation.
The joint team cohesion and logistics organization by Medic Air Ops desks in Shanghai and Paris followed the High Reliability Organization (HRO) protocol, guaranteeing each action’s mindfulness. Despite its complex nature, this particular evacuation was operated successfully.
In partnership with La Pitié-Salpétrière and Trousseau University Hospitals in Paris, Medic’Air proudly applies this exclusive concept to operate worldwide within the shortest delays to set up ECMO for stabilization, and then evacuation of non-fit-to-fly patients.Retour à la liste
